as the clouds do.

This reminds me of the hot air balloons I used to see floating overhead at my childhood home, the field where they launched was only a couple miles away and I always wished that I could be up there and see the world as the clouds do.

Christmas on the mind

Stores are taking out their Christmas decor and now I can't help but get excited for the season, early as it may be! Lately I've been dreaming of a taffeta party dress in a spirited, luminous red. It would be perfect for Christmas parties wouldn't it?

Why Buy Handmade??

As we say adieu to summer and begin moving towards the holiday season, there will be many more lovely family get togethers, and with those come the hostess gifts and Christmas presents. I am obviously a strong supporter of independent designers and crafters, simply because I admire the work and devotion that goes into starting your own business. This winter, if you find yourself debating between buying a gift at the local department store or through an independent designer, I hope you'll consider the following...

1. Where and how your gift was made, and the quality of the product.

2. Who you want your money to go to.

3. The care and attention to detail that goes into making your gift.

4. And last of all, consider if your gift is unique and if it fits the recipient perfectly.

this weekend...

No, I haven't put photos up yet, but I have to model them or find someone to model them and I haven't had the time yet! But they're coming soon, I promise!

On another note, I've set my goals for myself, this weekend I want to make one sash, one ring pillow, and maybe two pink tweed throw pillows for myself. Speaking of which...I bought lovely pink tweed fabric on Labor Day and I think they will make pretty pillows and perhaps some fabric flowers for a wrist corsage or casual sash. We shall see!
